The Game
Join John, Paul, George and Ringo on-stage at legendary shows, behind closed doors in the recording studio, and in dreamscapes that bring the psychedelic imagery of the latter stage of their career to life. The acclaimed Rock Band elements of interactive play and full-band capacity are here as well, but with brand-new additions. One of these is full three-part harmonies, which challenge you to recreate The Beatles’ vocal blend — a first for any music game and facilitated by the game's support for up to three microphone controllers. In addition, the game supports custom-built controllers modeled after the actual instruments that the Fab Four played, and eventually helped to make iconic, audio straight from the masters and graphics that take you on a magical tour through the key moments in The Beatles history. Produced with the full cooperation of The Beatles and Apple Corps, the game is packed with hidden fab extras that will push you and up to five of your friends to master the songs both online and offline in order to hear rare audio and view unseen photos from the archives.

Before purchasing this game you should beware that you have to have special controllers. A guitar like used for Guitar Hero that you insert a Wii controller into will not work. There was nothing on the packaging or even in any reviews that gave any clue that it would cost a lot more that just the price of the game to play this. You need some type of Logitech USB device that can be calibrated in order to play this game. Since we didn’t know that until opening and trying to play it, there’s $50+ down the drain or otherwise spend a lot more in order to use it.

got the game for Christmas and kids are having a blast. we started wondering about songs that were not yet on the playlist and assumed we could unlock with further play. then the disappointment – you can buy and download additional songs. this is a bummer considering the game was pricey to begin with. so the game becomes an infomercial for some of the better Beatle’s tunes. Guess Nintendo and Paul and Ringo need the money.

My problem with Rock Band: Beatles is the same problem with all Rock Band products — they just can’t seem to strike a good balance between easy to the point of falling asleep (medium setting) and so difficult you fail every song (hard setting — several titles later and I still can’t handle that orange fret).

This is in contrast to the Guitar Hero series, that is extremely enjoyable on medium by making it suitably challenging but not discouragingly so.

I guess I should mention I’m in my 40′s and don’t have the time or attention span to play a game 8 hours a day to truly master it. I just want something I can pick up and have fun with.

It probably doesn’t help that The Beatles, who unquestioningly were pioneers who changed the face of music forever, really don’t have the most technically complex melodies compared to more modern tunes.

Lastly, I know it’s impossible to put together a set list that will please everyone (particularly from such an enormous portfolio), but really this volume contained NONE of my favorites. What are the odds of that? There are a few songs I like, but absolutely nothing that really excited me.

Apart from the cool Beatles-specific graphics, this really doesn’t have much to offer anyone but the biggest Beatles fan.

My teenage daughter is a Beatles freak. She is loving it. While I like their music, I think I have had my fill.

All the Rockband games are great, I just am not a huge Beatles fan. If I had to pick I would get the other games in the series first, more variety in bands/songs seems to make it easier for everyone to enjoy the game.
