Year six at Hogwarts' darker tone means more action, potions, puzzles, and, of course, more Voldemort. But, it's not all doom and gloom as even the videogame world addresses Harry's growing adoration for Ginny. Wii, PS2, PS3, PSP, Mac, PC, DS, Xbox 360, Electronic Arts, T.Amazon.com Product Description
Based on the 2009 summer movie blockbuster of the same name, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince transports fans both old and new to the beloved and action-filled video game universe of Harry Potter. In this most recent adventure players return to the famous Hogwarts school for wizards, as well as other surrounding parts of the wizarding world, to help Harry survive a difficult and danger filled sixth year.
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince the Video Game, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different, but equally unavoidable adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates. And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously, but determined not to show her feelings. Yet as romance blossoms throughout Hogwarts, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again. Gameplay Like earlier video game releases in the Harry Potter franchise, the action in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince the Video Game revolves around the exploration of Hogwarts and the action that results from what you uncover. The game features both engrossing single player and local multiplayer modes, as well as additional unique play features. During their adventures, players will have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince. Key Features

To start things off, I have never played Order of the Phoenix before I played this game. Now I have played OotP and I can say that game is a lot better than Half Blood Prince. What made it so much fun? So many things to do: mini-games, side-quests, challenges, and you can interact with just about everything (people or objects).
So what is the Half Blood Prince game like? Take the Hogwarts layout from Order of the Phoenix, add a few more rooms and switch a room or two with something different and you’ve got the Hogwarts world. Then, cut 70% of the variety you get from Order of the Phoenix. And to top it off, you cannot interact with anything.
Here is what you do in Half Blood Prince:
Dueling, Quidditch, Potion making, and collecting 150 Hogwarts crests. That’s it.
Dueling: Dueling is an improvement over the last game, but you will be doing this so often it loses it’s charm after a while. There are four House Dueling clubs you can sign up for, and each house has four challenges from wimpiest dueler to master dueler. Other than that, dueling takes place during the mandatory story sequences.
Quidditch: We finally get Quidditch back! This is pretty fun actually, though you always follow a set path. You have to fly though stars during the practices and matches. There is a Quidditch club board you can access in the game, but you can only play the practices. Accessing the Quidditch club from the MAIN MENU allows you to play the matches as many times as you want. Getting top scores for Quidditch is by the hardest in my opinion. Sadly, there is no leisure flying. Honestly, with just about nothing in this game they couldn’t add the option to just fly around the castle just for kicks? Especially since the Hogwarts ground are so beautiful in this game, it would have been fun. Oh well.
Potions: Potions can be really tricky if you aren’t that great at distinguishing color hues. This section involves taking ingredients until the potion reaches the color specified in the instructions. You can heat and stir the cauldron to reach the specified color as well, as per instruction. This can get pretty tricky in the more advanced potions. This is pretty fun, but like all the other tasks (the grand total of three) it can get tedious and boring.
With the three tasks above you can get badges for completing them a certain way, or failing miserably. Sadly, this badges system doesn’t add much variety to the way you play these.
Crests: There are 125 crests lying around the castle. Some in plain sight you can just walk over, some in plain sight but you need a certain spell to get it, or some more cleverly hidden. There a few crests you can get by doing tasks for some people, but that involves dueling yet another bully or making yet another potion. There are also a couple you can get from banners hanging in the hallways. The other 25 involves gathering Mini-Crests from anything that glows. You use a spell and it spills out these Mini-Crests. Gather enough and you get a Hogwarts Crest.
So that’s it. Nothing to interact with except for a few people, but that’s only to sign up for a club or to get one of the Hogwarts Crests. Other than that….. you can use Wingardium Leviosa and hit people with chairs and things…. Now that covers the game.
So why did I give this 4 stars if I keep saying it has nothing in it? Because I loved wandering around Hogwarts that much. Unlike Order of the Phoenix, this game does NOT have the Maurader’s Map (not that I could find, I tried every button and I think every menu section). Nearly Headless Nick can show you to a room you’ve already visited or to your next objective, but it doesn’t help you remember the school layout at all. As I said I hadn’t played OotP, so I got lost in this game a lot, and this was my fun factor. It was so beautiful and confusing I spent hours roaming the castle trying to remember all the passageways. I still cannot remember it all.
This game is for Harry Potter fans only. Even so, this game is for the hardcore “gotta have all the games” Potter fans. It’s an “eh” game, but fun if you just want to roam the castle passages.

I’m not sure whether I love this game or not, but it was definitely 100x better than OotP and GoF.
The graphics are awesome (especially the view of Hogwarts and the surroundings), the tasks were fun though at times repetitive, and the gameplay was overall great, though lack certain things.
In this game you can duel in the Duel Club, brew potions (really fun for girls like me) and play quidditch.
But other than that, I think this game misses something. They can make a whole lot of other things with it but instead, we only got to do tasks (which mainly consists of you trying to find someone/something, or brewing potions) and fight people.
Overall, this game is fun. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, I suggest you give it a try. But if you’re not, you won’t miss anything by not buying it.
