Star Trek fans might want to start marking their calendars. Cryptic has confirmed that Star Trek Online will be out next year, confirming pre-order listings over at Amazon and GameStop (via Eurogamer).
At the moment, the upcoming MMO is in closed beta, with those who picked up six months of Champions Online receiving preferential treatment. An open beta will be following at some point in the future.
Star Trek Online allows you to join either the Federation or the Klingons as the commander of your own starship. Players will be able to go on away missions, engage in ship-to-ship combat, and build their own crews from scratch.
