Castlevania

Paul W.S. Anderson is currently overseeing the shooting of Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth entry in the film series that started with the Anderson-helmed first movie in 2002. But the producer/director is reportedly already eyeing some future projects -- and they're both videogame related, as well.

First, and this is starting to take on a Groundhog's Day quality, is the off-again, on-again Castlevania film adaptation. So reports ShockTillYouDrop (via Kotaku), who spoke with RE: Afterlife co-producer Jeremy Bolt. According to the report, Bolt told the site that "Paul W.S. Anderson is still circling video game adaptation Castlevania at Rogue Pictures and that they are waiting on a script." What that means for the last bit of news we heard on this project (that Saw director James Wan became attached to co-write and direct) is hard to say, but this seems to be the film project that will neither die, nor get past a planning stage.

And Anderson's next interest? The Metal Gear Solid film. "Bolt added that he and Anderson would like to adapt Konami's Metal Gear Solid for the big screen at Columbia Pictures," ShockTillYouDrop reported. But don't worry, folks: That doesn't mean Columbia Pictures will allow them, so the idea of an Anderson-helmed Metal Gear Solid movie isn't anything we have to worry about... yet.
